Compression Socks 😡

Worst thing so far have been these socks. I have a sock aid. I put the sock on it and pull, gets it over the heel! Not sure if anyone has problems with this, but the sock aid works well!

Doing really well! Anterior approach. No limitations at all on the hip. Pt 3/week. No driving. Go back to doc next Tuesday. Staying at home by myself. Stayed with my brother for 5 days, hospital for two nights! Walking tall and straight with walker!

    Hey lizard,

I feel your pain. I hate the teds, in fact after week 2, I only put on the opposite side.

I walk around a lot so the need/risk isn't quite as of much. I see the doc to get the staples out in 5 days and the Dr I'd ask me to wear them till then but damn.

I hate the stinking things. Lol. After tal ki ngbto b t he nurse I felt comfortable with just v the operated side. But. I have no swelling and no soreness. I'm walking without a aids and very happy. maybe you can talk to the doc and ask about continued use of the stinking s ovks.

    Hi Lizard,

I wore my TED stockings until about 5 weeks when they started to disintegrate, one at the foot end and one at the top.  I found them easier to get on after several washes when they seemed to be less tight.

How often are you supposed to wash them. I wasnt told anything at all about my stockings and wasnt given a spare pair so iv no idea if i have to wear them for 8 weeks without a wash because i dont have anymore to put on.

Oddly enough though i really like my stockings haha x

I was allowed to take mine off every day for up to an hour, during  which time I washed them, squeezed them dry in a towel and hung them on the radiator.  Then I washed and put moisturiser on my legs.  They make your skin very flaky after a while.

Yes, I got a 505 server error when I tried to post but then it appeared.  I can still see it but if for some reason you can't this was my reply ...

Ahhh i see haha. Did you hand wash them so that it was easier than sticking them on for a long wash in the washing machine? Xxx

I hand-washed them because I knew I should have them back on with an hour.  I just used the liquid soap in the bathroom.  It's not as though they are really dirty, plus the more you wash them the easier they are to get on.

Lizard, would it be possible for you to show me what kind of chair you sit in during the day? I'm intrigued by your " no restrictions" recovery. Thx

When you post a reply in the green box, on top in red, push the icon that looks like a mountain with a dot. That's the picture insert, and thanks so much!

Yes!! Thanks! And you have no problem pushing out of it? Do you use your arms to push? Thanks again! Sliding to the edge to stand doesn't hurt your operated hip? I'm preparing my home for the surgery, which I'm putting off cuz I'm so scared!

Before the replacement, I was in so much pain....lost 3 to 4 inches in my leg. Walking with a cane. My right leg is bent at the knee to compensate. When I came home I had some trouble but not much getting out of the chair. I scoot to the edge and push up. First few days though I was in a harder taller chair - stayed at my brothers. Have the operation....surrender to the hospital....they will take excellent care of you! I have some pain...I'm still on pain meds. Tuesday is two weeks!
