15 months ago I had a total hip replacement on my right side and after the operation I was discharged wearing the compression stockings but I can't remember how long I wore
them for basically I think it was a matter of days. on Thursday i had a total left side hip replacememt. i

If you come out of hospital with them, general advice is 6 weeks. First op I wore them for about 3 weeks and gave them up as very active, 2nd op, discharged without them thank god, as it was last June and bloomin hot, different surgeons and hospitals though, so if you have them, you really should wear them for the allotted time, might be worth contacting your surgeon for advice, if they are not snowed under
