Concern about Thyroid nodule

I've been diagnosed with Hypothyrodism and Thyroid nodule. I've Ultrasound of my neck done and I'd like to share the results with you all. Can someone suggest if it is good to get the nodule removed?

Ultrasound-neck performed using High-Frequency probe.

Right lobe of thyroid gland is normal in size and shape .Iso to hypoechoic nodule measuring 1.5 x 0.9 cm is seen inferomedially. Other few anechoic cysts also noted in right lobe.

Right lobe – 2.8 x 1.5 cm.

Left lobe of thyroid gland is normal in size and shape . Isoechoic nodule of size 0.7 x 0.4 cm inferiorely . Diffuse subcentimetric anechoic cysts are also seen in left lobe.

Left lobe – 2.4 x 1.4 cm.

Isthmus of the gland (4.6 mm) is normal homogenous echogenicity. Bilateral visualized carotid arteries are normal.

No evidence of lymphadenopathy is seen.

Normal air-shadowing of the underlying trachea is noted.

    Hi hunny,

    I think they should or will probably schedule you for a fine needle biopsy. I wouldn't have your thyroid removed till that is done and shows whether it is really necessary to remove the thyroid.
