I’m 60 and have been having various symptoms that “appear” heart related. Pain in the middle of my chest radiating up to my right jaw, severe fatigue, shortness of breath for no reason. I’m waiting for an angiogram, no obvious problems with EKG, etc.  The stress test was inconclusive. My question is I’ve been to the ER 3 times with obvious symptoms but EKGS are fine and blood enzymes are ok. Same comments of possible “panic attack”. I’ve had one panic attack 15 years ago and this is nothing like it. Does anyone else have negative tests?

I get worse than that, I have had three false positives with stress tests that led to angiograms that showed my arteries to be clear.

Next step 24 hours halter monitor, your local GP should be able to organize this test I would think.

?That would show up any electrical issues that a few minutes on ECG just might have missed.

?Told husbands ECG was normal, by local GP, again shortness of breath, could not walk up stairs, just exhausted and really short of breath trying, sweating up a storm for no reason.

?I insisted we go and see a specialist cardiologist, letter from GP, which you have to have, with copy of ECG, specialist ordered immediate echo cardiogram, told us he had serious problems and sent us home with I will be in contact for angiogram in the next few days, and quoted anything between $10K and $30K depending on severity of problems found at time.

?He collapsed the following day at home, with congestive heart failure, rang an ambulance, taken to local hospital where his lungs were drained, and put on cardiac care ward.  From there I was told he was dying, I questioned nurses, and they suggested I drive him across town to the dedicated heart hospital, they could not believe he had been discharged or what I had been told about his life expectancy.

?Since then have had other issues in the last 7 years since he was supposed to be dead, each and every time I take him to the heart hospital, where he gets a pretty high level of care once we can get past the junior staff.

?last big episode was when his electrical branch bundle left and right stopped working, juniors told us his heartbeat at 30 was not an electrical issue, but caused by his tablets, they removed said tablets, heartbeat then dropped to 23 BPM, in the middle of the night, the next morning I was ready for them with a head a steam build up, I went for the consultant and told him to his face his juniors were idiots, and needed to go back to med school, ordered an immediate pacemaker installation, he had 100% branch bundle block for 36 hours before pacemaker installed, lucky to be alive.

?He is still doing really quite well, but you must get the correct care and don't take any B----hit from anyone.
