Concerned about Heart problems

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'm 26 and have been experiencing high blood pressure and other symptoms for quite some time. Previous PCP says it's just stress. I'm to the point to where I don't really buy into that and am getting a second opinion next week but the wait is hard. Any advice or comments appreciated!

Symptoms/issues: high blood pressure all day AM and PM ranging from (132-169 systolic to 95-120 diastolic), heart burn, insomnia, shortness of breath, snoring all of the sudden, extremely tired, feeling like I have a weight on my chest and it's hard to breathe at times, nausea and faint feeling. Family history of heart disease.

Hi there, Sorry to hear your situation. I too have had most of your symptoms over the last 2 years and various cardiac investigations have all been negative. Im still convinced something is being missed and will continue to seek further investigations as i know certain forms of heart disease are notoriously difficult to detect (I too have a strong family history of heart disease). I would suggest obviously to see a cardiologist but also ask your doc for a course of propanalol as this has helped me greatly. Propanalol works by relieving stress on the heart by lowering blood pressure, heart rate and the anxiety levels that come with having such a condition. It works by relaxing vessels within the heart meaning that it pumps easier hence lowering blood pressure. It is not addictive nor does it have any major side affects. It is used to treat angina, arrythmias and also to treat stress and anxiety. Also if you are concerned you have narrowed arteries or feel at risk of heart attack there is no harm in taking a low dose of aspirin daily (baby aspirin 75mg) to help thin the blood a little until you know what your problem is. These things have helped me greatly. Hope you find your problem soon, take care.
