Concerned about numbness when waking up and head sensations

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum.  I have had some bad anxiety because of stress the past month and a half. I’m just curious if anyone has ever dealt with waking up with numb fingers, hands or any other body parts? And if so, has it sometimes been a body part you weren’t laying on. Now i have read online that some people wake up with their pinky and ring finger asleep or tingling. That is something that I have gotten. And I will say sometimes I have slept with bad circulation.

As for the head sensations, has anyone ever felt funny pressure in the back and or front? And has anyone ever had a feeling where your head feels light? Not lightheaded but just light. Some people say it’s foggy but  the best way I can describe it is empty head.

What parts of you were numb when you woke up if you don’t mind me asking?

You have woken up with numb hands or arms? Or both?

Yes, this can be caused by anxiety.  It can also be caused by inflammation and pinched nerves in your back or neck.  Sleep apnea could also be a concern.  I was waking up with both arms completely numb from the elbows down for about a month straight. However, I started to do exercises to strengthen my back and arms and ever since it has not returned.

Thank you for your response. Yeah I’ve been working out more, which has been helpful. I mainly have a pinky/ring finger feel numb in the morning. But that two arm situation happened once in the past, which freaked me out. But you said that was happening to you for a month? You would wake up with two dead arms?

Yes, a month of waking up both arms dead.  It worried me a lot.  I did a lot of searching and found that it can be related to inflammation and disk damage in the spine or neck.  I also have neck and back pain so I think it is related to my back.  I also started a low inflammation diet along with upping my exercising.  They come back from being numb quickly after I get up without the typical stinging you get when blood flow gets cut off.  You could just try taking something like Aleve before bed to see if it makes a difference.  Eventually, I will get my back checked out though.
