Concerned With Hard Bump Under Skin Of Penis

Hi, I noticed a hardish bump under the skin of my penis a little below the head, it appeared about a week ago but the last time I was sexually active was about a month and a half ago so I don't believe it could be an STI but I could be wrong. Please tell me what you think it could be. It's hard to the touch and is not very noticeable when flaccid but when erect it increases in size. When I move the skin around my penis the bump does not move so it is under the skin. Could masterbation also be a possibility? image

Chris, as Kim states this is more than likely a penile cyst. Many men get these from time to time, it is best to leave them alone, and eventually over a period of time they do fade away.

If you press on them, or in anyway irritate them they most often grow larger, I recently had one that was much larger than what you have and it took in excess of 8 months or more to fade so that it could not be noticed. Probably two years on, if I hold my penis at a certain angle I can still see a very small bump.

So yes, they can be linked to masturbation - often they are caused by a great deal of pressure being applied to a small area of the penis and out pops the cyst. They can be caused by sustained rough sex, if something like a harness or other restriction is placed on the penis, or during various forms of penis enhancement, such as when using a pump or vacuum device, or via natural forms of penis development.

Really, any form of pressure can cause them, but some men report they just pop out on their own ......

So should I completely hold off on sex and masturbation until it goes away?

As long as you do not apply pressure directly to the area, such as placing finger tips on it, that should not irritate it further - otherwise you could be abstaining for a very long time .....
