I am 20 and weigh 140kg (308lbs) and 166cm tall (5'5'). I have known that I have weight problem but nothing I do will shift the weight. I know I have high blood pressure (170/100is when not on medication) and recently found out I have high cholesterol as well.
Total - 240mg/dL
LDL - 190mg/dL
HDL - 50mg/dL
Triglyceride Levels - 400mg/dL
I used that it eventually do harm but of late it is. I have chest pain frequently, at random times too. But recently while I was having the pain, my left arm felt heavy. I also felt a little nauseous however, went away in about 30 minutes but left me feeling exhausted. I know I should be concerned but I feel helpless. What do I do, I am already eating really healthfully, vegetarian and all that jazz.
Please help.

also, in terms of weight loss, consider your portion sizes - however healthy the food is, it is still possible to eat more calories than you use and hence to put on weight.
can you add some gentle exercise into your day. walking around the block for example. or gardening. to lose the weight you need to be using more calories than you are eating.
some people find it helps to join slimming / weight loss clubs.

What sort of foods are you eating? As certain foods even though dietary can actually make you put weight on?.
It might be a good idea to ask to see a dietician who may be able to help reduce your weight to then maybe the pain you are experiencing may decline.
Also if you are worked up about your heart sometimes anxiety can add to the pain?.
But if you are not happy I would insist on having more tests on your heart ?. If your heart is ok? Then it could be some other predisposing problem you may have that could be causing the problem ?.
I hope this helps a little?.
Best regards
Carole

I know rachael88657 suggested consulting your Dr. Can I suggest you do this as a matter of urgency (asap!). You may have had a heart attack.
I'm not medically qualified, but I woke up in the early hours back in March with some niggling chest pain.
Initially I dismissed as heart-burn/indigestion, but antacids would not touch it. I contacted the NHS (dial 111 24-hours if you are a UK resident) and they asked me a series of questions, including "does the pain radiate elsewhere?" - when I said "yes, down into my left arm" they sent paramedics round in 8 minutes. To be honest, it didn't feel that bad, but not right either.
The paramedics gave me an ECG then told me I was having a heart attack, confirmed at hospital by a blood test which showed high heart enzyme levels (troponins) - a strong indicator. These hang around for a couple of days I believe, hence why you should dial 111 right now.
In my case, further tests showed it was a different (but still serious) condition called myocarditis, something I've made a good recovery from according to a recent examination.
Incidentally, the unexpected shock of it all led me to losing an excess 14kg, which I'd been carrying around for over a decade. Never let yourself believe you can't achieve what you know is right!
I'm 46, but just like you, I felt way too young for this to be happening to me!

I have high blood pressure 200/100. We ALL have ( white coat symdrome ) when we have our blood pressure taken wether at doctors/ hospital etc. if in doubt get GP to check it. If you get tingling in arm go to hospital explain your symptoms and high blood pressure DO NOT BE FOBBED OFF. If in doubt insist in an angagram ( it is costly for the hospital ) at the end of the day your health is important. I had ECG `S WEEKLY nothing showed up for about 10 weeks 1 angagram showed I had ALL 4 arteries blocked 3 way by pass in 3 weeks. ALL the best come back to me if you want

Did they do a stress ECG with you on a treadmill? I fail stress ECG's but my two angiograms were clear. False positives they said.
