Hey everyone thanks for read my story

I meet this girl at a bar so we have protected sex but the condom break so i stop and ask her if she test for any std and she told me not in last 10th year which made my heart stop. She told me she was going to test when she get back in the UK I'm from USA so she test negative on all std but i don't trust her. so the first week i stared to feel symptoms like i was come down with a cold or a flu i was achy and weak so i rest up. the second week i was feel the same but with a headache and i don't them like that but it was a red flag that went up and i told myself i have the virus. The third week i was feel the same but the headache on and off but i was feeling feverish but check my temperature it was fine i noticed that my throat my was close but no sore throat don't hurt when i swallow. So the fourth week came and I'm feeling the same so i went to the doctor and explained to him the story and the symptoms. now it been like 7 weeks I'm good but not a 100% the symptoms come and go I don't know if it stress or anxiety but its killing me. i test with 4 generation test at 28th days and other at 41st days and all came back negative do I need to worry about symptoms being related to the virus?and how accurate is the 4 generation testing? And I'm going to test again at 8 week . If anybody in my same problem can help or give me guidance or a specialist please help thank you

the 4th gen test is accurate at 4 weeks. conclusive at 12 weeks. it is likely that your symptoms are stress and anxiety related

Thanks b30929 I'm going to test at 12 week as well. But the thing that freak me out is my doctor ask him if we can resume unprotected sex told I'm fine. so I'm married and i dont want to get my wife sick been asking why we not have sex so i told her that im sick. Ok 3 week ago we have sex and now she complaining about her headache killing and sore throat was like a 4 day and disappeared and nausea and fatigue she told me its cold everybody at her job is sick.

the fact you tested negative at 4 weeks is a good sign and it is very unlikely that the 12 week test will turn positive. symptoms of hiv are so generic so you shouldnt diagnose based on symptoms

It's a very good sign that you tested negative both at 28 and 41 days. According to HIV window period calculations, at 28 days the antibody test has a 13% possibility of showing a false result, while at 41 days this possibility is 5%. These symptoms may be just a fly, or may be fly - like symptoms caused by mononucleosis. You should re-tested at 3 months for 100% correct diagnose, but I believe that everything is okay. Always contact with your doctors and stay safe.

Thank you dima83742 i test for mono but it was negative i think maybe it stress or the flu im hope that the case but that 5% is scared me but is the chance tho? Thanks again

The numbers are approximately. Even if you will be tested at 3 months or more, there is also a possibility of a false result by 1%. No HIV test, will be ever 100% correct (after 3 months and more, has 99% accuracy) - but a possibility of getting tested after 3 months and have an HIV negative result while you are HIV positive, it's extreme extreme extreme rare and nothing of this will happen to you. I do not believe you have HIV. It's very good that you tested at 41 days and everything was okay, and I'm also sure that the 3 months test will be negative also. Usually, within 4-6 weeks, the body creates enough antigones which can be detected by HIV tests. Some people with the HIV virus , have antigones inside their bodies even at 2 weeks after the exposure. I would like to ask you 2 questions which will help understand how risky the exposure was: how many time did it took to you to notice that the condom broke? Did you ejaculate inside her?

Thank you so much for the encouragement and info Well when i was in her the condom broke i don't notice into i felt her wetness and it was warm so i pull out to check i was in her for like 2 to 3 minutes. We both got scared and stop and i don't ejaculate tho. I went to the doctor today with made 8 weeks for the exposure we did a 4 generation combo again to make sure he told me to test again at 12 weeks to rule out anything but now the symptoms get better it come and go so he told me to relax its stress and anxiety over the weeks i been taken all vitamin C and noticed a lot of Chest congestion so maybe its a cold or flu so i told him and said yeah its the season thanks for hearing my story

The odds are all in your favor. You were using a condom, you understood early that the condom broke, you did not ejaculate inside her, and all of your HIV tests show a negative result. And anyway, she may not even be HIV positive. The fact that she has 10 years to be tested, doesn't mean that she does not care about her health, maybe her sexual life was indifferent or her partners were very stable and trustworthy and that she did not have the need of getting tested (although everybody should get tested at every 6 months or once a year). When doctors hear that the condom broke during sex, they say: "Congratulations, at least you were wearing a condom". HIV does not transmit as much easily as we think, and there are many factors which increase or decrease the HIV risk. Are you circumcised?

Yeah i understand you right but when i spoken to her she told me she was in long term relationship after that she have sex with two different guys and the condom break as well she meet them at a bar that what kind of scare me is the pattern and no I'm not circumcised

I understand and you're right. I asked about circumcision, because according to some HIV specialists, this decrease the risk of HIV transmission from a positive woman to a circumcised man. But again, this is not a confirmed fact. Everything will be okay with you, and if you can, write a message and inform us about your next test results which I'm sure will be negative. Stay safe and enjoy life, and remember if any accident occur in the future, you can always go to an HIV Center and take PEP within 72 hours from the risky exposure.
