Hi I had a CT a few months ago and was told I had diverticulitus then over Christmas I started to have a lot of blood in urine along with pain and fever I also noticed I seemed to be having poo in my urine and passing poo when I urinated I was sent for a cystocomy and was told I may have cancer  in my bladder I went into hospital and had an operation which showed that I had no cancer but seemed to have a fisure from my colon to my bladder. I was discharged from hospital about 4 weeks ago,and told I would be refered back to colon doctors I have been in an awful state for this length of time not knowing what to do for best went to doctors for help and anitbiotics but told they woul have to send samples away as per normal wait 2weeks for results before anti biotics are prescribed. I am so fed up I am going to toilet about every 1 1/2 hours sometimes not making it in time. I feel as if I have been left to get on with it what advice can other suffers have .

Hello Denise, how awful what a state to leave you in for so long, You must be

climbing the wall   with worry. I often feel as the "untouchables" in India must

have felt. ,ignored and , NOT to be touched.  we struggle on ,reading everything

on all the internet which makes "me" feel worse ,because ther are such awful

consequences with this god awful disease. Can't you haunt your doctor ,to make him chase your results

Don't suppose anyone apologised for frightening you to death with  the -cancer

    scare. Hang in there

Thanks for listening to me you certainly seem to know how I feel I have been back to doctors and as I said they wont give me anti biotic until tests or concultant tells them to,she did ring me a fortnight ago to say she had sent a letter to colon surgeons to ask to hurry up and see me, but as of yet no one has even asked how I am. it feels like the hospital feel that because it wasent cancer its not that important. I would like them to have one week in my shoes or any other divictular sufer's shoes I do feel really dirty all the time and so sore from overwashingand as I get no more than 90mins sleep at a time I am so irratable because of contantly feeling I need the toilet .I just wish some one would say yes you have this...... and this is how we will treat it.... I feel so bewildered and was grateful for your kind words and to know I am not alone with this awful illness

Now denise,   You have to get things in perspective , and NOT let this

bug win. You have to take over, and stop stressing out, it likes that .

Have you been given a diet sheet ? That is most important .

I know what a shock this must be to you ,like being in a big hole.with

      no ladder to climb out.

One step at a time, Pity you can't contact the consultant yourself.

Hi Denise that is awful.I had similar going to the loo all the time,(not the cancer part)I am now on steriods and pentasa granuels, they work great, the steroids are brilliant,i started on 8 per day for 2 weeks then 7 for a week until one for a week,i have been on steroids from my consultant before and they work,(make you eat more)not good.pentasa is an ongoing thing, trouble is when i finish my course of steroids i go back to where i started after a couple of weeks and then need anti biotics till i see consultant again,i have been to him every 3 months, next due time is may, stress is the worst thing for you,i know its easier said than done but try and relax,if i have a bad flare up,i lie upstairs in the quiet or sit on the bed and knit or read.try that and see if it helps, unless you have this awful thing nobody knows what its like.you have my sympathy, hope this helps, take care.

Thank you Daisy for your comments I just want to be told what is going on by the consultants I just seem to have been left in limbo still lets hope I wont wait too long to see another consultant. its great to hear that what they are doing for you is working at least some light at the end of tunnel.I am just trying to control it a bit with a very high fibre diet until I hear from someone look after yourself

hi denise, not all these high fibre diets work, its trial and error, plenty of water to drink is good, write everything down what you have to eat/drink maybe that can trigger things off if you can find the disagreeable things, write everything down that you want to ask your consultant,i do, mine dont mind what i ask him, take care denise, your not alone out there, think about what i said about resting up,it works for me.get well soon.
