Hi Fellow travellers.

Since my last venesection 3 weeks ago my ferritin level dropped from 218 to 179 .A drop of 49!! But my iron went up from 25 to 32??Saturation from 61% to 79%.Transferrin 1.81 from 1.84.

With such a big ferritin drop  why was there no meaningful improvement on the rest.

When can I expect the saturation % go under 50%.

Geez, my TS% did not reduce to normal levels till this year when I continued to have 3 monthly venesections even though my ferritin was down to 24-27.  I started venesections in 1998.  There are no text book results.

This happens when you start to run low the body doesn't want to give it up and you need to remember you are taking it from the organs first it takes some people more time or less then others.

I have seen all different rates some that have ferritin over 1000 get down to 50 in less then 1 year others 3 or 4 years

    Hi johan 55235

It takes time some go down, then shoot up others slowly drop. Ferritin can shoot up because of inflamation and drop when its gone. Keep doing as they say and you will get there. Good luck.
