Confused about Peri Meno and post Meno

Posted , 6 users are following.

I think my Peri started at 41 and my periods stopped in December . Now I’m in post meno at 52 by my blood results . So when is menopause ?

I did have 2 months of missed periods 4 years ago and a few hot flashes sweating no big deal no major breakdown but NOTHING like I am now .  So Am i menopausal  post menopausal?

Hi Lori,  Your still perimenopause until 12 consecutive months with NO periods.  Then you are officially menopausal.  If you get one between now and Dec, you have to start the count over again.  Post meno is the time after.  My bloods have come back post meno before too, I still get light periods.  Four more months to go!  Fingers crossed for ya!  🤞🙏

Okay...so it's a year no period since October of last year. So in Oct of this year I'm menopausal? My gyno suggested Provera, a month ago as my lining is 7.5. Question is, do I ride it out or have a drug induced bleed???!!

Depends how bad you are? I could not function without the patch I tried to ride it out as wanted to do it naturally and just get through it. The fatigue was sooooo bad though . Even with it I’m not quite there yet . Without it I was ready for bed at 2pm . It has helped though . I feel like I’d chop my right arm off now if it made me feel better !
