Confused as to what caused my left eye to suddenly get myopia

23 years old. Year and a half ago, my eyes were perfectly fine, never had any problems. Covid time starts, I stop going outside and mostly play video games staring at a pc screen all day long. Last summer I notice bad vision on my left eye, I go and check it, -1 myopia, I got glasses for this. Notice that ONLY my left eye has -1, right one is working perfectly and only left lens on my glasses is actually modified.

Fast forward to today, I feel like my left eye is getting worse, I am still starting at a PC screen too much.

Now I am ready to make the assumption that starting at a PC screen all day long negatively impacted my eyesight and I will gladly change my lifestyle completely if that will reverse/stop the destruction. However, how do I know that this is the issue when ONLY the left eye got impacted, even though I am always looking with both of my eyes and treating them equally. If anything but genetics destroyed my eyesight, why only the left one? Does this mean that it must have been genetics?

P.S. Doctors didn't notice any problems (apart from myopia on the left) from the tests they performed.

Marko, it may be something that would have happened anyway so dont beat yourself up about it. I agree, try to cut down on screen time...too much is not good for many reasons, but quite often the eyesight in one eye will be different to the other. Its probably all the screen time that has made you notice it, but its not the cause, that could be just the way you are made,or genetics if you want to call it that.

Interesting. One eye sees darker than the other one, this is something all of us have but do not really notice. There shouldnt be much of a difference though. I suppose you will have to attend to the worse eye with eye drops and extra care. Over time things will improve.
