Conoloscopy Concerns

Hi
I am due to have a conoloscopy next week and am a bit fearful to be honest.
I do not wish to be awake when I have the procedure - can I be put out for this? The very thought of being awake just makes me very concerned.
Thanks
Robin

Do you think I'm being unreasonable and awkward because those are also things that worry me because I certainly do not want to waste anybody's time at the hospital when there's other emergencies they could be attending to. Mine is hardly that. Yes I think I'm going to contact the consultant on Monday and tell them that already I've had a severe panic attack (I had one last night for about 15 minutes - it wasn't pleasant). I will insist on a GA (I know if you make enough waves, they will relent) and with gas and not needle. If this can't happen, then I will opt for a virtual conoloscopy (iis there any pain involved in this?) I mean, even without the conoloscopy, can they still do the surgery to remove the Fistula? Surely now I've had my MRI scan, that would give the doctors some idea about where the Fistula is.
Thanks for your support, Babs, you've been a wealth of help.
Regards
Robin

No there is no pain at all with a CT scan..Just a mega Xray that's all however they wont be able to remove anything without actually going inside the colon. I had a polyp removed and felt nothing. The pain was the air that is pumped inside the colon which opens it up for the camera to see better. When you think how painful wind can be that is all it is..wind.. doesn't stop it hurting though. What is a Fistula? Im sure there are many people with needle phobias and they must be used to having to do the alternatives. Like you say make enough waves. This is what we need to do instead of shutting up and putting up
