Considering change to evening dose

Posted , 5 users are following.

I'm currently on day 13 taking Sertraline in the morning. Im feeling so lethargic, spaced out, emotional and anxious during the day. Worse than before I started taking it. Although there are glimmers of happiness. Is it too early to switch to taking in the evening in order to see if these side effects go or should i stick it out for longer?

I just switched from an evening dose to the morning as I was having interrupted sleep and bouts of insomnia for 3 weeks with evening dose. It is different for everyone but I think the drug needs a good 4-6 weeks to stabilize in the body and from what I've read, dosing time shouldn't matter as much once the drug stays relatively level. I am on day 26 at 50 mg and just starting to feel a bit better each day. All I can suggest is to try the evening dose and see if it helps. Otherwise, it might be just a waiting game for the start-up side effects to go away. Hope that helps!

Hi. I am on day 12 of upped level of Lustral (sertraline) I too am tired, anxious etc., but I have been here before when the level was upped its not nice, I again forgot the yuckie side effects, but I know its worth it after a number of weeks you feel so much better... well this is what I am telling myself !!

I take mine in the morning, but as mentioned maybe try it at night it may be better for you.

Eitherway hang in there it does get better & glimmer of happiness is a good sign.

    Feel better soon.

I started out taking in the morning, and after reading in various places of people who took them in the evening, and finding it worked better for them I switched to taking mine in the evening. I think I was around the same time period as you, I know it wasn't long into starting them. But taking them at night made a huge difference for me, although it did mess with my sleep massively for about a week, after that everything seemed to settle down, and I was experiencing much less side effects.
