Considering fundoplication surgery but terrified

I have been suffering with acid reflux for the past 5 years. For the past month it has been getting much worse with a burning sensation in my throat and upper left back and chest pain . This condition has changed my life. I am thinking of the fundoplication procedure but have heard so many horror stories that i am absolutely terrified but i have come to a point in my life i can not carry on like this any more

    My surgey date is 26th May so 10 days time and I'm extremely nervous. did you have the surgey?

    it would be great to hear any feedback from anyone.
