Considering vitrectomy for severe, debilitating floaters

Floaters started in July 2019 approximately one year after cataract surgery. I can best describe them as big blobs, almost like vaseline. They move from side to side and up and down. Its so hard to focus because they are constantly moving with every eye movement. I was scheduled for vitrectomy in Feb. 2020 but I chickened out. I'm looking for input from anyone who has had vitrectomy for floaters. Are you glad you had the surgery, any regrets? What can I expect after surgery? Is the improvement worth the risk?

I'm just very nervous and don't want to end up worse than what I am right now.

Thank you

Diane
