Consistent Acid Reflux w/ pain and no relief

Help! I’ve had consistent acid reflux since I wake up until I go to sleep for about three weeks now. It’s so bad now that I can barely eat. My mouth tastes awful. I get upper back and chest pains when lying down at night. I have been checked out by my cardio, had a perfect stress test, ct angiogram and ct scan of lungs. My next step is a gastro but idk how long that will take.

Basically I can barely eat or sleep! I have a small dose of diazepam for the pain it it doesn’t alliviate it at all. I just started a prilosec regimen a few days ago and nothing yet.

Does anyone else have symptoms like me?

I’d like to add that I am 95 lb 25 year old female, non smoker, fairly active and healthy, no known illnesses. This just hit me out of the blue! That’s why I thought it was cardiac because of the location of the pain but my cardio insists that it is not.

Thank you!

Hi, it will be interested to know what medication you are taking for reflux.

I am not a Dr, have below suggestion basis my experience with reflux.

. Try spiceless food for few days.

. Don't drink water 1 hour before and after your meal.

. Get your blood work done for vitamin B12 and Vitamin D deficiency. You can also start a vitamin B12 supplement.

. Avoid heavy meal 3 hour before you hit the bed

. And yes fix up a meet with Gastro.

The duration of your recovery depends on the exact cause, however nothing to worry about. You shall start experiencing benefit once the targeted medicine will start.

    Hope this helps.

Yes ! If you have indigestion, reflux or acidity which is recurrent and returns after the medicine impact gets over, then its worth checking your B12 levels.

B12 deficiency weakens all nerves including the one which manages our stomach and esophagus.

I also suffered from B12 deficiency and had all these symptoms.

And its very common then we think.

It sounds like bile acid reflux

Ppi didn’t help me much - eventually had endoscopy - for me it’s stress related

Keep a food diary - see if any what food triggers

Book called acid watchers diet helps

My thyroid was out of whack u can check

No pop coffee and no sweets

It takes 2-3 weeks for those pills to help - sometimes they just don’t but in any case don’t stop abruptly -

You can try Zantac and DGL there are holistic other ways

I found oatmeal helped and if u do gave bile acids - there are bile binders

Try to eat small meals - almond milk smoothies help
