Consistent pain in excision site years after melanoma surgery

Hi, im hoping someone may be able to give advice about my mum. She had a melanoma removed from her shin 2 years ago and needed a large skin graft done to cover the hole which is extraordinarily deep (filled out slightly over a year after surgery) and causes her a lot of pain. She has the typical 'wasp sting' nerve pain in the site and its there constantly with quite a lot of bad days. I've looked online and can see a few sites (normally in the US) where they mention fat injections around the nerve endings or local anaesthetic courses to train the brain to ignore over time. Does anyone have any experience with these options?? Help would be appreciated! Thanks
