Constant back pain is waking me up from sleep

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have fibromyalgia and a 9 week old baby. My back pain is excruciating from lyinging in bed and often wakes me up. I cannot take a full breath for a couple of minutes after waking because it is so painful. I am also in moderate pain throughout the day whilst nursing my daughter.

try reclining instead of laying down, basically change what you are doing and see if it offers relief. Make sure you have everything on hand for baby to reduce the amount you have to strain yourself. My changing table didnt see much use because it was easier for me to change diapers on the couch or the floor. Try a heating pad but thats a long shot if it will work. The problem with us is we dont know if pain is fibro pain or something else sad Im actually going through my own back pain flare up and wondering what it is and how to deal with it sad Hang in there! I hope you have support if you need it and just like any new mom sleep when you can, just try a different way.

    Dear Emma

Have you considered that this may be due to you back being out of true or in spasm. A good chiropractor could be the answer.
