Constant C. Diff diagnosis

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I am continually getting diagnosed with c. Diff. This time I was not in the hospital and I was not on any antibiotics and I once again have been diagnosed with c. Diff??? I don't understand how I keep getting this and the doctors have no answer for me??? I am so fed up and depressed. And so tired of being sick all the time. I am still waiting on my insurance company to approve humira. It just seems like the doctors and insurance company don't care or don't understand why I am continually sick with this disease. Thanks.

I looked after my Mum who had picked up C Diff in hosp after an op. They gave her antibio s but they didn't clear it up, kept coming back. We insisted on a more particular  antibio that we found out about that the GPs were not keen to prescribe until a last resort and was expensive. Sorry can't remember the name of it. That worked and she had lots of probiotic yoghurt which helped and it never came back. is the problem that you have a reduced immunity to the infection from disease? Good luck Sheila.

Thank you for your reply. I am assuming that the issue is that my immune system is weak due to the ulcerative colitis and the continued flare ups. They have started me on flagyl so we will see how it goes. I am also on prednisone for the UC flare. Just seems like every April I end up with a flare wondering if it is seasonally related
