My IBS started in the way you describe. However, my trigger is stress rather than food.

I get pain, some nausea, cramps but after 55 years of ibs I now get chronic debilitating unrelenting gas, bloating and terrible distention. The bloating started exactly 7 months after I had my gallbladder out. I wound up with gastritis and horrendous pain in upper stomach then all over intestines from all the gas. I can barely eat anything now. The very few food items I eat even cause me horrible gas and bloating but I have to force myself to eat them even knowing how sick I will get. This is a horrible disease.

I feel almost always nauseous, I have a burning/gnawing pain in the middle of my abdomen and I always feel tired. Welcome to IBS...

Try to keep stress levels down - maybe try yoga, meditation or pilates in your spare time; eat what you can and keep a food diary specific to what times you're eating, what you're eating and any changes to your symptoms. Most of all, exercise regularly if you can - even if that's just taking short walks!

I wish you the best of luck with your symptoms.

This sound very much like dyspepsia or possibly mild gastritis. It's not IBS. Try liquid antacids. If this doesn't help see you go for prescription acid reducing medication
