Hi recently my husband started with constant headaches daily, he went to the gp who sent him for a mri scan which showed 2 bulging disics in his back. The specialist said the body was tring to rectify by pulling on the muscles in his neck which was then causing him the headaches, no surgery was needed he would have intense physio if this didnt work he would have to go to a pain clinic.anyway phisio made him worse so he is now on nyproin 2x a day tramadol with paracetamol 4x a day and amatriptoline 30mg once a day and now the headaches have started to come back daily another trip to the gp we think

Some years ago, I was suffering with a bowel problem and I would go to a famous City Of London hospital frequently. On one occasion, I got talking to a student who admitted that their training concentrates on life and death situations. Problems that are on the peripheral are not a priority. He added that in such peripheral cases, doctors would often discover that patients were more knowledgeable, particularly on treatments not recommended by the NHS.
I had IBS at that time and doctors knew very little about food allergy testing, stool testing, choosing supplements and some of the other new techniques that I was reading about in a specialised IBS magazine. Thank goodness for the IBS unit at Sheffield and their monthly magazine.
Now I have headaches and I would suggest that you make yourself a member of specialised internet websites dealing with headaches, such as this one, and watch for suggestions and recommendations. Then it's up to you to keep looking. because it's unlikely that your problem is unique. I have headaches and I am constantly watching posts here. I also joined a Facebook site and one recommendation was to buy a (fairly cheap) strap that gradually pulls your neck into the correct alignment. That helped me quite a bit even thought it was a bit uncomfortable. I was desperate at the time and I didn't mind spending a tenner. Back posture when you are resting, is really important and it's easy to forget to sit properly. That strap reminds you to do it.

Try a search for "posture and clavicle support, adjustable clavicle brace for collar bone injury support, posture support for supporting shoulders effective figure 8 brace" It's black and cost me £14.99 on a UK site named after a river.
I can't post the link.
Make sure it supports the neck and keeps it firm..but not tight. It will remind you to keep your back straight.
