Constant hot flushes?

Hi ladies

For at week I have had constant hot flushes during the day and night sweats. After the hot flushes comes the cold chills.

It came on suddenly a week ago.

It feels like a sudden wave of heat hits my face and neck, it turns bright red - sometimes my neck too, and it lasts for hours and hours.

I have always been blushing and feeling hot in stressful situations or when my anxiety sets in ( I have bad health anxiety), but this constant feeling is new to me.

I'm on the pill and thought it would prevent hot flushes but apparently not.

My pulse is also elevated, and I feel it pounding in my neck sometimes.

The more I'm aware of it the worse it gets (anxiety kicks in...) so I hope to get some reassuring comments from you...

    Hi Troldepus,

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been around the boards much the past couple of weeks.

I get this way if I eat dairy now. Dairy has been fine with my body my entire life, then all of a sudden this summer, my face kept flushing, I'd get hot, then chills. sometimes it affected my stomach... horrible painful cramps for hours at a time. waking every hour or two sweating and chilling. A friend recommended I do a food sensitivity test. It came back highly sensitive to eggs and dairy. I took those out of my diet, and the flushing and night sweats diminished over time, and I now gave a flush every few weeks instead of every few minutes.

I hope you are feeling a bit better these days.

    Take care,

    Sara
