Constant itchy mouth for almost a month

For almost a month the back of my mouth has been itchy constantly and it's really annoying to deal with. Sometimes it can be fine but touching it accidentally with my tongue would cause it to start itching again and it happens at random as well. When I look at the back of my mouth (I think) there's an unusual small white area but I don't think it's an ulcer because I can't feel it and there's no bleeding near it at all.
I've visited my doctor about it a week after the problem occurred and she said it was tonsillitis (although I hadn't felt ill or had any obvious sore throat) and gave me antibiotics to have which I took but I still had an itchy mouth. I also visited my dentist recently and she said it was my wisdom teeth causing it and said I shouldn't have them taken out unless they're causing problems (I personally think this is problematic enough to warrant taking them out if the wisdom teeth really are the cause) and said I should gargle warm salt water to help it. She didn't seem to point out anything about my mouth having a white patch either which confused me so it might just be nothing as I've never really cared much about looking into my mouth in the first place before this problem occurred.
I just visited the dentist a few days ago so really all I want to know is can wisdom teeth actually cause an issue like this? and if so how can gargling salt water help get rid of it exactly.

I thought about that but when I scrape the white patch it doesn't seem to go away when I scrape it, but I just took a picture of my mouth and I see white patches in the throat too and now I'm confused as to how my dentist didn't spot it. I'm leaning more towards it being strep throat so I'm definitely going to try and get another doctor to look at it this week

you cant wipe thrush off usually. and if you were to do so it would bleed underneath

Will do, although try taking a picture of your mouth, I did just now and I see white patches in my throat too so I'm thinking it might be strep throat (apparently they can also cause your mouth to itch). It makes much more sense how my doctor diagnosed it as tonsillitis considering they're pretty similar but I'm definitely going to get it checked sometime this week now. Lmk how you get on too 😃
