There isn't really much that can be advised in all honesty. A lot of us are in teh same boat & not getting anywhere with regards to the constant pains.

The thing personally that I have found that does help a little bit is to do the breathing exercises and end up in a sort of meditation state that I learnt in my martial arts training as a youngster. Doesn't help long term but gives a little bit of release from the pain whilst doing them (although the pain is still there, you're mind is other places and it lessens slightly). Obviously this is not something that you can do constantly as you would not be able to do anything else.

    hi dazza

i have been in the same boat as you i prolapsed 2 cervical discs oct 2005, and had the physio and stuff but i was in constant pain, so my gp refered me for a mri scan which now after being a member on patient for quite a while have realized that i should have gone private for that about£200 it would have saved about 6 mths of waiting , cos when the mri results came back it stated that i had spinal compression and displacement, and a second prolapse at c6-7, i am now 3 wks post op after waiting over 2 yrs for proper treatment so dont waste time and ask to be refered to the right doctor at the beginning, my surgeon told me that if a prolapse has not healed within 3 mths then he operates. of course you may have already discounted surgery , so i assume the only other treatment is physio and nerve blocks, have another chat to your gp about options available no-one should live with the pain of prolapse discs god it is the worse pain i could ever. good luckgail

No they shouldn't but everyone seems to as they have no choice because of the poor excuse for a Health Service in England.
