Constant pain in abdomen centered around the naval

hi my son aged 7 is having constant stomach pains since last 6 weeks, with bouts of cramping before and after passing stools. he had undergone three ultrasounds( normal) of the abdomen and a blood report (normal) except that his lipase levels were low at 29 ( normal range 73-293

could this be pancreatitis. since last two days he is having floating stools. the GI that i am referring to has said that it is nothing to be worried about and suspects an infection of the small intestine ( stool report reported mucus, occult blood and pus cells around 8-10). he is generally ok and carries his routine activity mostly.

he has completed his antibiotics course but is still complaining of the pain. there is no history of pancreatitis in my family

I have pancreitis but my lipase is high not low. You mentioned your son has pain around the belly button. Has he ever had surgery before? I thought maybe it could be scar tissue bc that is one of my problems. I wish I could help you more. best of luck to you.

I wish I knew more but I don't because I am having problems myself & my surgeon doesn't know why my lipase is escalating. I go for another blood test on Tues & will find out more. I think he should see a pancreas dr some kind of specialist. I wish I could help you more. I had a ultra sound & a MRI & I still have no answers. Please keep me informed & I wish you & your son the best. God bless Tigreyes

Have you had your son's amylace checked? Mine was high along with the lipase.

There both off . I sure hope you find answers & I added your son to my prayer list.

Have nor checked the amalyse levels. the pediatrician GI said that the current level of lipase is not something to be too concerned about. also after the completion of antibiotic course his pain has reduced and is now there when he has bowel movements. although he has frequent bowel movements 4/5 times in a day. the doc believes that it will eventually settle.

hoping for the best and thank you for praying for him. my prayers and wishes are with you too. keep posting. thank you
