Constant rectal pain and hemorrhoids with IBS?

Posted , 7 users are following.

I'm new to IBS. Does anyone here have constant rectal discomfort, pressure/hemorrhoid-like pain? It gets worse especially after I sit for prolonged periods of time or after bowel movements. My rectal discomfort is constant, I'm thinking it might be because I strain due to my constipation or IBS urges to go and from prolonged sitting. It also gives me the feeling like something is always "stuck" in my rectum.

Your symptoms sound like IBS, but I don't experience your symptoms because everyone is different. Perhaps try eating more fruit or try a stool softener to make stools easier to pass so as to avoid straining and haemorrhoids.

This can be common from constipation as it irritates the rectal area. Try increasing your fibre intake and drinking more water. I buy fibre powder which really helps as i have to follow the fodmap diet so difficult eating some foods.

go see your doctor - they should prescribe you with laxatives to help soften the bowel so it doesn't hurt. good luck, it sounds painful.

Thank you! I'm trying probiotics as well. I started a regular regiment of eating sauerkraut and some good yogurt. It seems to be helping. I also started drinking peppermint tea, about 2-3 cups per day and it's really helping to take away the discomfort! Good luck to you and I too hope that we all feel better soon as well. God bless!

you can get miralax which is harmless. It doesnt make your muscles contract or anything ..it simply adds moisture. Its worked for 2 years for me like clockwork. It has no taste and you mix it in water.
