    Hi Wayne

I'm so sorry to hear of your pancreatic cancer fear. Do you have any symptoms of this? Why in particular this type of cancer? Sometimes anxiety can get so out of hand our thinking goes overboard. I'm pretty good at that! yet when I did have cancer (not pancreatic) I coped better than any other time in my adult life! Sounds crazy.

Do you find it easy to speak to your doctor? I hope you can see him/her to put your mind at rest re the cancer fear and then concentrate on helping with the anxiety. I hope you manage a good sleep tonight and try and see doc as soon as you can to give you some peace of mind.

Wishing you all the very best and hope you can eliminate the pancreatic c worry very soon. I hope your doc supports you with the anxiety and you can get on with your life in a way that works for you. Anxiety is a nightmare. Mx

Wayne has said he HAS pancreatic cancer, he's not afraid of getting it!

Forgive me anxious lady, I was mistaken. I misread what Wayne said.  It is a fear and he wasn't diagnosed. I apologize.

Have you spoken to your Dr?

Speak to him/her of your worries.

Did anything happen to you when this started, an event in your life. 😊

I went to doctor one night because I felt tightness in my chest and cold chills. Then I went online and did symptom checker. And found pancreatic cancer. That's when health anxiety took over.

I have seen my doctor. He did some blood tests like liptic panel metabolic panel and general blood test. All came back normal. The other night I had a scare. My right side hurt bad so I went to the ER and the doctor had a CT scan done to check for kidney stonestone or Gallstones they also did blood tests. I was sure they would have found something wrong somewhere but didn't all were clear. Since then I still am obsessively looking at pages on the Internet for things about pancreatic cancer. My symptoms have been. Side pain. Both sides. Some back pain. Itching here and their. My stools and urine are normal. I'm just still scared.

I think it all started when I was looking up symptoms and remembered my brother died of pancreatic cancer.

im sure it's connected with your brother having had it. Have you had a chance to deal with your brother's death as counselling might be a good idea. All good wishes Mx

Hi. I too have the same worry? I have lost 3 people to pancreatic cancer recently. I can tell you from experience to stay off the internet. I have pains on both sides and sometimes,in the middle. I had a complete blood work up in June and everything was normal? I was told pancreatic will throw normal blood work off so not to worry but yet I do. Constantly. I am going to get the blood test you had which I hear is pretty accurate if something is wrong. My pains feel like tugging and pulling and tense so it's probaly anxiety but I know I won't be able to function if I don't make a dr apt yet again. I take Effexor ER but I heard Paxil is the best for anxiety. Keep strong and keep busy and keep telling yourself your ok. Most of all stay off the internet . Take care

I don't know if this is helpful but I was diagnosed with pancreatitis in 2004 and it is very painful.  It initially feels like a terrible stomach ache, but then the pain radiates to the back. Blood tests proved it very quickly, amylase and lipas levels. Mine was due to heavy drinking in my 20's and 30's.

The internet is a nightmare if you have a health worry. I too lost a very special brother in law to pancreatic cancer. I then coped so well with my own cancer in 2012 but have been horrendous with anxiety since. I was so lucky as had two primaries and just two major surgeries (ovarian and colon 2 mths apart) and no chemo just annual checks. Have taken Effexor but don't think it works for me so taking nothing at mo and struggling. Do you have any good coping strategies -- at times I overthink and end up not achieving anything! Thanks for reading Mx

Wayne, tightness in the chest and cold chills are common symptoms also of anxiety.     I have had both of those many times. Many symptoms of anxiety are also symptoms of other conditions ....so they can scare you but don't let your mind go to the negative. There's a much much higher chance your symptoms are related to anxiety than some terrible condition.there are hundreds and hundreds of symptoms and the vast majority are not harmful

I have had symptoms of anxiety for 30 years including the two you mentioned. Mine started in my 20s and now I'm in my 50s and I'm still here! You really really should stop going online looking up symptoms because it will drive you crazy and scary you!  I wasted 25 years of my life worrying about symptoms and what disease I could have. I really regret doing that because I am absolutely fine now.

One thing that really helped me was speaking with a counselor because they see this every day and know how to help. This is hard to overcome on your own and it's so much better to vent to someone else who can help. I highly recommend you finding someone you feel comfortable with. I keep  going even when I start to feel better. It's like a lifeline for me.

also, you can go online to find some great free meditative audios related to negative thinking and anxiety. They really help! You can find some on YouTube. Be a fighter for yourself! FEAR Stands for false evidence appearing real. Negative thinking is false evidence!

What great advice Jan -- the reason my anxiety has got so much worse as I've got older is because I've not been fighting it enough! It's been the worse three months ever and I've given up on so many things because I feel so bloody negative with it!  I've never heard the FEAR anallergy before -- I've been getting so much sympathy since losing my mum that I've just felt so sorry for myself.
