Constant tiredness on Sertraline

Hi Everyone

I started on 25mgs 5 months ago then upped to 50 and 75mgs and am due to start 100 mgs in a week. I'm just curious as to whether people have experienced the same level of tiredness I am? Since I was off over the Christmas I havn't been able to sleep properly for the night and since no matter how much sleep I get I'm absolutely wrecked everyday my eyes are all puffy and it's really starting to get to me I look like crap everyday. I also get light headed and dizzy from just walking or slowly going up steps. Also since Christmas I very rarely get a good day and with my wedding in September I can't even get excited or motivated to plan the rest I'm hoping once I up to 100 mgs things will even out anyone else the same?

Sorry for long post

Hi Nicola, sorry your not feeling to good. I'm suffering the same tidiness as you. Can't sleep properly and always tired in the day. I've got no energy or motivation either. I've been on sertaline 25mg for 6days and 50mg for 19days due to go up to 100mg so hopefully it will settle itself out. How have you found it? You had many side effects? Xxx

Hi Nicola - I've been on 50 mg for a few months for now and could sleep reasonably well most nights, however my depression got worse with the onset of winter and my dose was increased to 100 mg in an effort to combat this, which it did beautifully, however my insomnia went through the roof and left me with headaches during the day, I couldn't even catnap as I felt so wired all the time.  I reduced to 75 mg a week ago and I can now sleep, better than I could anyway.   However, the depression is reappearing so it's back to the docs for me.  I'm looking forward to getting back to 50 mg as it worked perfectly for me at that doesage.

    Wishing you well xx

I've experienced this aswell Nicola. That sense that you feel completely drained, you can't think straight having this constant brain fog.

This lasted for about a week straight, then I had Christmas away in another country which gave me a new focus and naturally gave me a bit more adrenaline so I stopped noticing the tiredness. Got home and some of it came back, but once again as I'm currently on a trip away, I'm not noticing it as much.

I think your lifestyle has an effect on how tired you're perceiving yourself as. How is your current lifestyle? Are you engaged with things you enjoy?
