Constant urge to pee at nighttime and during night

Hello all,

A few years ago I started feeling a constant urge to pee, a tingling about halfway down my penis, when I'd lie in bed to go to sleep. I'd get up to the toilet, pee, usually only a tiny bit, then lie back down only to feel the same sensation and have to go again some minutes later. This could repeat itself up to ten times . Most times when I went to the toilet, nothing immediately came out. Then, through the night I would wake up perhaps up to five more times for the toilet.

This still happens, but not all the time. Perhaps one in 5-10 nights. I've tried looking for a pattern but can find none. Although perhaps it occurs more when I can't switch my mind off, and I worry that it's perhaps anxiety-related. It rarely happens with the same frequency when I'm away from home. It also never happens during the day. It can also disappear completely for months only to resurface again.

In general, I am up to the toilet many times. Even when I do not have the evening/night tingling. I would say on average 3 times, often 4-5.

At this point I should mention - as perhaps it's relevant - that I used to be a casual cocaine taker. That is, perhaps once every month or two months. I stopped many months ago, however. I drink at the weekends and don't smoke. Although when I drink alcohol, I seem to be fine!

I also don't drink coffee in the evenings and have stopped drinking tea then too. Just water - and not a lot of it.

Thank you for any help you can offer me.

Christian

Since you did indicate your age or whether you have seen a medical doctor, I would recommend you see one, preferably a urologist. Sounds to me a doctor needs to examine your prostate, bladder or both. Wish you the best.
