im 8 months into this now and the thing that seems to make me freaked out the most right now is overall feeling weak and hot that makes me break out into severe shakes at times it really scares me because the shakey feeling happens randomly but after i eat something the shakes stop...but the shakes can happen an hour or two after ive already eaten so its not like im starving or anything...was curious if anyone else has that same feeling still after so long

    Hey Katelyn,

Definitely want to reassure you that that kind of weak feeling and hot flushes / low grade fever can be SO normal during mono and even as your body starts to recover - just hoping so much this all settles down soon and absolutely want to reassure you that this will get better, I went through a similar phase with the virus and it does pass.

It's totally understandable to be feeling frightened at these kind of symptoms, tremors I believe can be something which occur with horrible viruses like mono - again supplements / herbs / vitamins which support the nervous system can be helpful, things like B complex, co-enzyme Q10, cayenne pepper, chamomile, gingko biloba (maybe not all at once though). I've found cayenne pepper in particular so good at soothing the body particularly at night and helping to get a good sleep - of course always check for interactions with other medication / conditions before starting herbs though as I always say!

I would get the shakes all the time. It was more provoked by events such as something exciting happening or me being nervous for something coming up but nonetheless that would never happen to me before getting sick. I guess sometimes it would just happen all of a sudden too, now that I'm thinking about it. I remember a specific time when I was sitting in class, maybe the third week into the school year in September (around 5 months in) and all of a sudden I felt very faint, got anxiety, and was extremely shaky out of nowhere. It's like this weird jittery feeling and my heart starts pounding too. Still happens, and it has been more than a year for me now. Everyone experiences it slightly differently. Please try not to worry yourself! It's pretty standard from what I've experienced and read over the course of a year on this forum. Hang in there, I know it's tough but you can and you will get through it 😃
