I found out I had overeactive thyroid 3 weeks ago, hands going all over the place, legs shakeing.hot sweats you know the things I am on about. Doctor put me on 20mg of carbimazole and 80mg half beta-prograne tablets . I do alot of cycling- racing , but does any body get constipation from the tablets. this is a concern to me as I have had thrombosed piles before(not nice). Plus can the operation be the best bet to have done to get this thing sorted alot quicker. cheers.

One symptom of over-reactive thyroid is dehydration. If you do not want constipation, perhaps drinking a lot of water and eating food with more fibre will help. Sweet potato offers a good source of fibre.

hi, i also have over active thyroid. i found that after about 3 weeks i too became constipated.this can be due to the fact that meds are working. as for your family mine are all grown up so it was my hubby that had to put up with my mood swings. this will all pass once your thyroid is more controlled.
