    Hi nic,

I too was going a week or so on end without going and had very little luck with laxatives.  I am currently eating very minimally and use suppositories every day (my doctors way of 'managing' until they can be bothered to do something more productive and helpful for me) have you tried those?  They are easy to insert and bar a little tummy ache are reasonably painless to use. It may help get things moving for you.

Make sure you eat a little roughage too, i found adding linseed to my cereal worked really well too. And try to get moving,  if anything it may offer a break from the discomfort and bloating.

I hope things get moving soon, I have similar problems and can empathise. I would strongly suggest going back to your doctor and requesting another way forward as laxatives dont appear to be helping you and in the long term will only make things worse

    Xx

Oh that's not good. My daughter has suffered with this in the past. She was so

Blocked up her tummy was swollen. After many visits to doctor and being messed around I took her to A and E. Saw a gastroenterologist and she was given a bowel

Prep and dulcolax which was like dynamite! After which she took a maintenance dose of movicol and dulcolax at night which kept her bowel moving. She had been fine since. You need to get the blockage sorted first and I think you need a stronger

    Medicine. Good luck.

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are in his situation. I can only tell you how I solved my cronic constipation problem. I stopped drinking tea, eating apples and changed my diet to gluten free, and it worked! I now know that I am gluten intolerant. There is no medical test.

Gluten free products are expensive, but I look for reduced bread and freeze it and any deals in the supermarkets.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, Something else to consider is relaxing while you eat. Eat a bit slower, and swallow small amounts each time with a small amount of water between.

    Hope this helps. Chris

    Hi nic

hooefully you will be sorted by now.   Please don't use picolax- it may work initially but it could make your bowel lazy.    Try SENNA leaves to make a tea - you can monitor the amount - should werk within 8 hrs; otherwise SENNA pods or SENNAKOT are a little stronger.    You must eat to create something for the bowel to work with and glycerine sups will only work if poo is low down.

I'm really unwell at the moment too.
