Constipation

Posted , 2 users are following.

i am Gluten Wheat & Dairy intolerant and suffer with bouts of constipation. After a week of cramps, and severe abdominal pain my Dr put me on Fybogel. I have only been taking it for one day and the pain and cramps are unbearable. Will this decrease as my body gets used to Fybogel? It states it is gluten and sugar free but is it wheat? Has anyone else has had these reactions?

    Hi marion31442

All that I can say is to look at any leaflet that came with your medication. Also call the pharmacist on the dispensing label who will be able to help and give further advice regarding this product.

Hope all goes well for you.

    Hi again marion31442

I have just looked up the product Fibogel and according to the manufacture, Fibogel is gluten free and a sugar/glucose based product. It comes under the same category as the product Senakot.

As a suggestion, if I am bloated or trapped wind and along with any laxative I use mint extract. This to is a natural product. Put a couple of drops a a cup with about 50mls of boiling water and drink it as hot as you can tolerate it.

Hope that you are feeling better soon.

      Hi Mark

Thanks for your suggestion, I will try that.  Have you heard about the Fodmap diet, my gastroenterologist suggested I try this.
