constipation after clear liquid fast

Hi all: I just found this great group! I had a diverticulitis flare up a few days ago with painful gas and 1 day fever so went on a clear liquid diet and feel better after a few days. But now I'm trying to start eating a bit of no fiber foods and am worried that I haven't had a bowel movement for several days. Last normal one was 5 days ago or so, and during flare was only mucous and gas. Should I take any laxative, like a stool softener like Colace or Miralax? I used to eat a lot of fiber previously to this flare so was seldom constipated unless I forgot to drink enough water which I did the week before the recent problem! I haven't had a bad flare for some years but used to. I'm waiting on insurance approval for a CT scan but that could take weeks, being in the US.
