Constipation & pain/bloat. What's YOUR experiences please?

Hi.

as I've gottn older while my metabolism still seems really fast (I'm tall and slim) my bowel movements have slowed right down from say 4 times in the morning to now one or two.

Consequently I spend the day getting more bloated with gas pains all around my digestive tract. I can never poop any other time than first thing in the morning.

what are your guys constipation experiences?

Im guess I'm looking to see if anyone's in the same boat sad

I can have periods of small, hard pellets or nothing for a couple of days and then I get rid of the backlog in one go.  Sometimes, I'm regular.

Hi Ella, finally someone who has ibs c, not d who is struggling too. I was only diagnosed 5 years back but since then have tried different medication, the FODMAP diet, had blood tests, scans etc but still to no avail my doctors are stumped and can only put my IBS down to stress. For my IBS I take ranitidine as I have lots of excess stomach acid and Laxido for the constipation, you can take that, mebeverine, fybogel or something similar ask your chemist if that's where you take all the prescriptions to. Good luck something should work for you I hope.x

Thanks Sam. Yeh I too keep hearing about ibsd vs ibsc. It's soo crazy yesterday pooped only once then this morn 5 times in 40 mins.

you know I started taking bentonite clay, it's meant to clear the bowels and draw out toxins, parasites and waste . People rave it clears their ibs issues. I'm reluctant to try meds and Drs aren't forth coming with offering them yet cause they have to rule out the other stuff I guess.

thanks for posting, best of luck to us all smile

not meaning to sound harsh here, but going once or twice a day is not constipation. nor does it sound like you have ibs.

passing a stool once in the morning only is perfectly normal.

if you're getting gas etc later in the day then look at what you're eating
