Excited, scared, nervous, you know that feeling, I'm booked in for double bunion and hammertoe surgery. Think I'm shocked it's been confirmed, but it's a positive step. Think I've asked all he correct questions thanks to you ladies. I know this won't be an easy recovery, but I'm hoping for the best possible outcome. Seen a lady in her ' shoes'  Nice lol x

Good luck  for your op have you got a date for it yet? all i can say is just take each day as it comes you will get good days and bad days .

keep me posted when you have  your op please.

I am week 6 now after having a metatarsal osteotomy and pip fusion, had the pin removed last weds and its looking good but i thought i would be able to wear my normal shoes  now, but consultant said not for another 3 weeks , so as you can imagine i am a bit fed up of being stuck in and having to rely on family and friends to get me out. I didnt have bunions done but  was told the recovery from my op  is similar to that op. i must admit i was  very shocked at the length of time i have been  having to wear this heel wedge shoe i am getting  so used to it now i do wonder if i will ever walk  properly again.

I am sure when you have had your op  after a few weeks you should be almost painfree but you will still need to rest  your feet up and listen  to your body.

    wishing you good luck

All crossed for you Rae and well done.Focusing on how excited you'll be when you see your new and lovely straight feet really keeps you going! I'm week 7 post op and still gaze in wonder at mine, can't wait to get the other foot done. And having one foot done and one not, when you start walking again you realise all over again just how much the horrid bunion foot HURTS!!! As for the black shoe, you really do learn to love them! Good luck, let us know how you get on.
