Contact dermatitis or something else?

Hello everyone,

My wife has a strange rash in her vaginal area (see photo). The skin is red, irritated, rugged and peeling off. There are also dark freckles lines on skin as if it was slightly burned. She also feels slight burning sensation.

She told me that two days ago she put some cream down there after hair removal, but she mistook it because it was actually a shower gel .

Does anyone know what this is and how can it be treated?

    She may have just irritated an already irritated area. I would try Cocolene Rescue Salve, soothes and gets rid of irritation quite quickly. Also, maybe a gentle Super Shea soap.
