Contact Lenses after Lasik

I'm at 22 years after lasik surgery. I recently had cataract surgery and my right eye is at 20/40. I want my distance vision back without wearing glasses. Has anyone here worn contact lenses after Lasik?

Hi diane48177, To recap the gist from your previous discussion:

PPC surgery done on right eye on 2nd week of March. Distant vision of right eye is 20/40.

PPC surgery done on left eye on April 19th (6 weeks later) resulting in a tear of the eye capsule. Retina specialist said a vitrectomy might be needed.

No doubt you are following the post-operation instructions to rest well, to not bend over, to not do heavy lifting, and to wear your eye-shield to bed for the first few weeks. Extend that to a few months, after all the AVERAGE healing period is from one to THREE months.

I could see so clearly the minute I opened my (operated) eye, and on the same day at the surgeon's clinic his assistant placed a contact lens bandage on my eye. I could read the street's name 2 blocks away.  I got so cocky and I started working on my computer, played games on tablets, and watching TV.  It was then that I felt a stabbing sensation in my eye that sent the same message to my brain, and I had to immediately shut my eyes and went to sleep.

The contact lens bandage came off two days later, and it was then that I realized that I could no longer read the street's name 2 blocks away. LOL.  I guess if I want to, I can use contact lenses.

Perhaps others can chip in if this is a good idea or not. I have been taking LUTEIN long before my cataract surgery, and I am still taking it.
