Contact lenses and Blepharitis

I have worn contacts for years with no issues.  I started getting dry eye, then internal styes and one external stye.  Diagnosed with Bleph.  I know it might not be advisable to wear contacts but I am in a dilemma as my plus 10.5 prescription makes wearing my glasses a chore, both asthetically and physically painful due to thick lenses.  Has anyone got any advice for contact wearers who also have bleph?  Im using Blephasol twice a day and heat masks.  My eye lids can be red during the day and I have dry eye.  I use lubricating drops - Hydrosan red - which help.  I take my lenses out as soon as I get home and then wear glasses.  Im starting to get anxious and down because the thought of wearing glasses permanently after all these years and not being able to see to put makeup on is getting me down.  Any advice for keeping contacts in whilst battling bleph would be appreciated.  At the moment I feel the condition isnt too bad to keep them out.  Many thanks.

    Dear Kay,

My daughter had a stye and she used the Wet Ones, antibacterial handwipes, and killed it in about 2 days. She used the wipes for another 2 days to make sure it was gone.

I had horrible itching on my eyelashes and used the wipes for 3 months and killed the Bleparitis.

I word makeup while doing it. It requires throw away wands and new makeup and never double dipping into anything. I used 1 wand for each eye. You need to use 2 washcloths for your eyes too so as to not reinfect an eye that is getting better.

People have lost eyelashes and have had them grow back after using the wipes and killing the Blepharitis off.

It would proabably take an antibiotic for the internal stye.

I would recommend not using your contacts while you kill it and make sure you have new ones or find a way to kill the Staph on the lenses before you put into your eye again after the Blepharits is gone. You could ask your Dr that question.

If you are interested in how this is done let me know or you can look at what is posted already on this site.

      Hi Lynda

Ive read your post about the wet ones but I darent use them because they arent supposed to be put in your eyes.  Im going to try with the blephasol first.  Regarding my lenses Ive upped my hygiene routine so hopefully they are disinfected enough and change regularly.  Regarding the internal stye that is still there from Dec 16, would you say that heat pads might get rid of it?  Ive been told by consultant that if I carry on with them it will eventually go.  Also any idea how to get rid of a small red scarring area on my lower rim from an external stye?  Thanks Lynda.
