Has intratympanic steriod injections been discussed with your physicians, assuming that your diagnosis is Meniere's disease?

Are you on a diuretic (water pill)....what dose....how often do you take it?
What are your rescue meds....how often do you take them?
Please be as specific as possible to above questions.
thanks

Hi I now am on 16 mg three times a day which my ENT consultant says is the largest dose I can have. Am on salt and cafeine free diet .
No diuretic pills did have cinarazine but have been told to stop it .
I dont have any rescue meds what ever they are.
now suffering deafness in both ears left side is the worst, very unstable when walking have to use a stick to help keep balance. Had two two terrible attacks of vertigo which came on quite quickly and I cant stand up or walk, rooms just keeps spinning round, have to lay down and sleep has been for two days then I still don't feel right kind of dizzy

As earlier replies point out we need more information.
At this stage the most helpful thing I can say is that for betahistine to be effective the dose has to be high enough and it needs at least a month to become effective. My ENT consultant started me on 16mg three times daily, which he said was a modest dose! He was right because when I saw an Aural physiologist he tripled the dose.
There are not many Aural physiologists seeing adults in the UK and most are based in London!
Stugeron ( cinnarizine ) is an antihistamine that can make you very drowsy which is not helpful for balance so if you dizziness improves try to get off it. Its the betahistine that will really help if A. you have Meniere's and B you are on a high enough dose.
Good Luck.

Hi arax, it is very reassuring to hear that you have the vertigo under control for nearly a decade through dietary modifications. I am in a similar journey (no salt, no caffeine, no alcohol, no processed foods etc.) and haven't had vertigo since April of this year. Of course I have had only 2 episodes of vertigo since my menieres began in 2016. But loss of hearing in my left ear. Would you be kind enough to share the foods including any vitamins and supplements you have been taking? That would be very helpful for folks like me. Thanks and all the best.
