Continuation of HRT, yes, no?

Hello girls

I am a newbie here but decided to test my luck in exchanging a few issues about a very horrifying menopause (I don't even know the stagr).

My uterus had been removed 8 years ago when I was 40. I didn't pay particular attention and my doc didn't specify if I shouldntake anything (or when), since I still have my ovaries.

However, I have been experiencing light sweats for 2 or 3 years now, where I noticed I am sort of "intollerant to summer", i.e. h0t weather etc. By the beginning of this year, I expereienced literally over-night invasion of variety of issues: severe night&day sweats, insomnia, depression, libido loss, muscles&joints pain (severe), you name it.

Doctor prescribed Angeliq and I started usong. 15 days into the therapy, ALL the symptims were gone without a single negative side effect.

I had a very slight increase of BP on 1 ocassion and got scared, although anything could have provoked it, so I stopped taking.

All the symptoms came back with vengeamce, 5 times worse.

I am 6 months off the therapy, on raw food, soy, macca powder and practically every "natural" stuff - nothing. I am just throwing money on over-priced and hard to get products.

I am considering Angeliq again. I have to.

It helped.

I had energy, I slept well, I wasn't sweating like a pig.

If I don't, I bet stress and melancholy and insomnia will kill me much faster than an HMT.

Any similar experiences? Suggestions? Ladies, thank you

I was told I started menopause in Nov of 2014. Im 46. Still have all the parts. My bloodwork fsh level was 111. Hadn't had a period since July 2014. So had hormones check via saliva test. Showed really low progesterone an low estrogen .So started Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. They are more (suppose to be! ) natural, a little like plant based not synthetic. Vaginal suppository. Started in end of Nov.I was having really bad depression an anxiety an palpitations. So until hormone kicked in was put on Lexapro antidepressant. All it did was make me mad an gain wt an sleepy all time!! So stopped in March. Then I started havin gallbladder problems an started screwing up on hormone, forgetting to take it at night. All in all prob forgot about a total of 2 mnths to mnth an half of hormone. I know bad!! But I didnt feel good fr April to end of Juneish. So started back on regularly. Well in July 20th had a full blown period. Cramps, back ache, bled for 5-6 days like normal periods in past. It freaked me out. Thought of uterine cancer! Called pharmacist who makes hormone an she said probably a chemical induced period fr skipping so much. Started again. 21 days later started bleeding again. I think i skipped 2 times. So now skipping every Sunday an if start again will go to Ob. Just frustrating! I read that HRT can cause gallbladder problems!

    Hi Maxpoe.

If it was me, and the Angeliq did the job for me - especially without side effects - I would be on it. Not many women can say they don't have some side effects from HRT.

It's all about quality of life.

      I fully understand,Vauxhall GIrl.

Prior to taking my first HRT I was considering various natural supplements but as I said, I used it later for 6 months when I went of HRT after 2 months of using, and nothing helped.

I wonder if Angeliq will have the same effect as it did by the beginning of year?

I am only 10 days into it again but the first time it kicked in in less than 3 weeks (because now it doesn't - yet).

I did sleep reasonably well for the last 2 nights (two nights in 6 months) although my legs are constantly cramping and sweats are incontrollable and I am truly miserable.

God please make this pill work for me, I am so happy there are women who glide through menopause with little or no problems, but I am not glad when someone forces me to make a decision to go all natural - I did try and it simply doesn't work.

Here where I live I don't even have a doctor to check my hormone levels, so no specialist at all. I mean the doctor is a specialist, he saved me with my surgery etc., but he didn't send me for a hormonal checkup.

Definitely the quality of life, nothing else.

Fingers crossed that this pill kicks in, eventually.cry

I do hope the pills work for you,Maxpoe....it may take the three weeks...only 10 days gone so far, so keep a positive heart.

Come back and let us know if it does or not, and that you are ok. x
