Continued Low grade Fever after shingles rash scabbed

Hi,

I was diagnosed with shingles earlier this week on friday. I think the rash started Sunday, but it did not develop any blisters until thursday so I did not start the antivirals until Friday. The rash is just in a small part on my back under my shoulder blade and seems to be scabbing well and healing. My pain is fairly low thus far. What concerns me is that i have had a temperature of 99.5 (my normal temp is in the 97s or low 98s) or so for the past 3 days and it doesn't appear to be improving even though my scabs are. Did anyone else continue to have the malaise and flu like feeling and low grade temperature after the blisters appeared and started to heal?

Thanks for your help!

Katie

    Hi Katie,

I am sorry you are going through this.

Some individuals experience a low grade fever in the 99°s F with malaise, exhaustion, and fatigue for weeks afterward. The virus has attacked your entire body. Please take it easy on yourself and rest and sleep, eat nutritionously.

    Best Wishes

    Merry Juliana

    Hello Katie

That is normal and it takes a while!  I had shingles in February and after I healed just yesterday i felt another little blister on my scalp where I got it four months ago!  Here I see people get bouts after getting shingles and that worries me too!

My daughter checks my head and she told me it’s just one blister!  Two months ago one came out too!  I would like to know if this will eventually go away permanently

I have heard people repeating for years!!
