    Hi,

No, it doesn't mean this i'm afraid, as you were in the WRAG for more than 1 year then you would have been transferred to Income related because Contributions based is only paid for 1 year in the WRAG.

You'll need to ring DWP to ask exactly what you're claiming. If you're claiming all income related then living with a partner that works will affect the amount you can claim.

If you're claiming Contributions based with an income related top up then you'll lose the top up and keep the Contributions based. Chances are that your claim is now Income related.

even tho I was reassessed? is there anyway I can go back on to contribution based ? I've read that if changed into support it automatically reverts back to contribution based but that makes no sence also we do not live together an wont if we get married as he works away

As previously advised, you will need to ring DWP to ask because as far i know it doesn't revert back to Contributions based in your case because you were in the WRAG previously. If you were in the Support Group from the start then this would be different.

To answer your other question, you will also need to ring DWP and report the changes when you do get married, it will then be down to a decision maker to decide whether or not your classed as a couple for benefit purposes. It's not as easy as just saying "my husband doesn't live with me because he works away" there's lots of things a decision maker will look at for example, bank accounts, how often they spend away, who pays what bills, once you are married, your partner is supposed to support you. I'm afraid you won't find a definite answer to this on any internet forum. You will need to give both your details to DWP for them to decide.

If you are claiming all Income Related and i suspect you are then expect your ESA to be suspended while they make a decision.

yes I get that thank you ... I just dont understand if I worked all my life why I would not be on contribution based ... it seems very unfair as wether married or not it does not effect by ability to work etc x

You were in the WRAG to start with and Contributions based is only paid for 1 year in this group, if you're then entitled to Income related it will revert to that. If you were in the support group from the start, then changed to WRAG and back to support group, it would be different.
