Convinced I have bowel cancer

I'm writing this down while hyperventilating and crying my face off. 20 months ago I was involved into an accident which caused my leg to break , I developed compartment syndrome and had to have 5 surgeries + screws on my ankle. I stayed at the hospital for 16 days , period during which my bowels had very little movement ( I would go once every three days with lots of straining ). When I got back home things got better since I was having frequent and more normal bowel movements.

A month later I got a staph infection which meant new drugs for a whole month ( that was during Christmas ) and a little before easter I got diagnosed with another infection called mastoiditis which meant new drugs for another month.

The thing is that I have been going for the last 15 months or so really frequently to the bathroom and when I wipe I always put extra pressure and even try to insert the toilet paper inside to check if there's any blood or something. So , the last 8 months I have been seeing a few spots of blood and they're always accompanied by pain and burning in the anus. Tonight I wiped and almost the whole toilet paper got covered with blood and the usual sensation of burning came along . I don't have ribbon like stools or pain I'm just nauseated by the whole situation . I've lost my sleep I can't think clearly and I am a very heavy case of a hypochondriac so I'm scared really really scared I have cancer . I'vé been to the gastroenterologists lots of times but they always brush it off. I pressured my current doctor for a colonoscopy since the stress is killing me and I need to know whats going on in my body. I'm 22 and female

Firstly, remember that the replies will be from people with no medical training, so based on personal info only. This is no substitute for your GP's advice.

I would think the attempting to push the tissue inside is causing you to damage the very soft internal lining, for starters.Remember when an internal examination is done, plenty of lubricant is used- you are using dry tissue. You may well be causing your own symptoms. The burning sensation suggests damaged tissue.

Is your doc sending you for a colonoscopy?

They will only do this if they are almost certain there is a problem to be investigated, as it does carry risks.

Also, at 22, the chances of it being cancer are microscopic. You are way outside the normal age group.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write down an answer! I went to my doc again and basically he said that he's willing to perform a sigmoidoscopy only because I can't stop thinking about it so that he can ease my mind. My appointment is on Wednesday, so when I get back I'll let you know how it went .

He refused to perform a colonoscopy stating that there are risks and he could cause damage and that my age is off the radar for what I m dreading

Hi, so basically , after tears and begging ,he decided to perform the colonoscopy. He checked my entire bowel and a part of my small intestines and he told me that he checked it 3 times to make sure that everything is clear and all he found was a stretch mark , thus the bleeding . And he told me to stay away from the Internet because there everything leads to cancer 😂
