Coping with life events

Any long term sufferers of anxiety here who can give some insight into how you have coped with life's challenges when they have come at the same time as your anxiety?
I am currently going through a bad patch, which I find really overwhelming, and am worried about how I will cope in the future when my partner wants to have children, we have to move house or a loved one dies.

Hi ed , a moving situation to have children would be an issue ?? Of course that is a issue you can control ,your own decisions .... For a lost loved one you have no control . A very hard thing to go through . What helps most after losing a loved one is cherishing the memories and time . With time get gets easier . If things get to rough on you at times , remember the loved one you still have , try to keep busy ( hobby or something like that )

it can be difficult to try to cope on your own. I found it very helpful to speak with a therapist when I was struggling with life issues. They can also give you some strategies on how to get through things when you have anxiety. It’s amazing what you can learn when you talk to a therapist.
Another thing that is very important is keeping your immune system strong. Make sure you eat healthy, get a little exercise and stay hydrated. Stay away from caffeine, nicotine, Junk foods etc. they just make anxiety way worse!!
YouTube has some great meditations for anxiety, stress, sleep, depression etc. I listen every night when laying down to sleep. They are very comforting and teach you proper breathing for anxiety. ❤

Hi Jan and Vicky,
Thanks so much for your replies. i have struggled with anxiety for about 10 years since about age 25 and I am now at that stage in my life where my parents are getting older and my partner wants to settle down, get married and have children. it just seems like such a challenge with anxiety!
I was looking for reassurance from people who have been through these things with anxiety and have survived 😃
thanks again for your replies

hi Ed......I'm gonna just be real. Valium has saved me this past 6mo.
2019 has TRUELY been the worst year of my life, bar none!
albeit, everything was outta my control, (which DOES make a difference).
I experienced everything from my adult daughter (literally) almost dying....she's still not 100%, to me getting a diagnosis of lymphoma.....and Everything in between!
so, in my case, no time for ALL the myriad of things to try. I've needed Quick results!

So sorry to hear you've had such a bad year. I really pray that 2020 is better for you. It is reassuring to hear that despite considerable difficulties you have made it through.
