Copper coil...

Hi all, I had the copper coil fitted on 27/4/16. That went well, took a little while to insert because apperently I have a titled uterus lol (I've had two children) not much pain afterwards was just a little light headed. Didn't really bleed was more very very little spitting which stopped after about 3 days.

Last Friday I started bleeding wasn't too sure if it's my actual period or bleeding like expected since having it fitted, I'm still bleeding to this day. Is this normal? Could this be my period or bleeding due to the coil? It seems a little heavier than usual & defiantly lasting longer my periods usually last around 4/5days.

Any advice would be great smile

Is this when you should be starting you period? Were you on birth control before getting it inserted? If you were it could be your body getting used to no hormones. My periods are heavier and longer(about a week) now too but this is normal because I'm not taking any pills or hormones. There's a discussion up already on copper coils maybe you could ask there too. If you are worried you should call your doctor. I hope I helped!!

Thankyou for your reply, I'm new to this so wasn't sure what to do lol ... No I haven't been on any other form off contraception, I had my second daughter 3 months ago hence me choosing the coil because I don't want anymore children soon plus I'm terrible at remembering to take the pill.

It seems more of a nusence rather than me worried about it, I wasn't too sure if it's my period because there not really back to normal since having baby, takes a couple months to adjust. I'll just see how things go, if I bleed for longer than two weeks I'll go back to the doctors. Don't wanna be bleeding all the time it'll drive me mad lol x
