Copper Coil + Injection problems?

Should there be any problem having a copper IUD and depo provera shot together? I didn't want to get rid of my coil until I was sure the injection was good for me, but since then I have been bleeding lightly and constantly (4.5 weeks). Is it normal when you start the injection? I was on the injection before and don't remember this. I am worried the injection changed the conditions in the womb making it bad to have a coil there...
