Cornea issues after cataract surgery?

My 72yr old mother had cataract surgery over 3 months ago. Only when she reads a book the text appears double. If she watches TV or words from a distance its fine example the letter F she sees the horizontal lines under the original F. The dr. ruled out issue with lens, double vision. She will need to see a cornea specialist. Has anyone experienced similar issues and if so what was done to correct.
